Meet the founder

Welcome, I’m Gianna, the owner and founder of ELLARA (formerly Bay Ridge Botanicals).

ELLARA began as a deeply personal mission. In the first half of my 20s, I struggled with severe acne that left me feeling devastated after trying every conventional and natural method imaginable. Nothing seemed to work, until I discovered Medical Medium information, which completely transformed my understanding of health and healing.

I began healing from the inside out through food, herbs, and deeper self-care—the kind that nourishes the mind, body and soul. My skin cleared, but I gained so much more than that, my health had truly been restored. Along the way, I learned about the powerful medicinal herbs and flowers that could also support the skin externally. Because I had already experienced such transformation internally, I knew that the same principles could be harnessed externally—to nurture, restore, and truly support the skin's healing.

What began as a personal exploration quickly grew into a calling. I started creating herbal-infused blends for myself and my children, inspired by the synergy of plant medicine and natural beauty. To me, ELLARA is more than just skincare. It’s an invitation to reconnect—with nature, with your body, and with the innate ability to heal. Every formula is crafted with purpose, guided by the wisdom that healed me, and designed to help you feel supported while you do the sacred internal work.

THE MEANING BEHIND ELLARA

The name ELLARA holds meanings of “bright,” “shining light,” and “radiance.” For me, it also carries something deeply personal - my daughter’s name, Ella. I started this company while pregnant with her, extending the nurturing energy I felt into something that could help others. To me, ELLARA is a reminder that when we nurture our body and spirit in harmony with nature, our true radiance begins to shine through.
