What is Ozone?

Ozone or O3 is Activated Oxygen (O2). Ozone contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms that Oxygen contains. The additional atom of oxygen becomes a powerful, highly active element. It destroys pathogens, like bacteria, viruses, fungi, odors, and is a potent detoxifyer. Only pure oxygen is left behind as the byproduct.

When oxygen combines with UV rays from the sun, Ozone is created. For ELLARA's products, the oils go through an extended process where ozone is bubbled through it. The process of fully infusing the oil with ozone takes weeks to months. Once fully ozonated, the oil becomes a thick gel. It is solid and will not flow like an oil if at 75°F or under (it will liquify into a thick liquid if it gets warmer). Specific extracts are introduced for their additional therapeutic benefits.

Is it safe for babies and children?

Yes. Ozonated oils are generally considered safe for all ages, including babies and children. However, because this formula is highly concentrated, we recommend performing a small patch test first to ensure compatibility. Always apply only a tiny amount to the affected area, as a little goes a very long way.

This product may soften or liquefy when exposed to warmth. If temperatures are above 75°F where you live, place the jar in the refrigerator for a few hours before opening to allow it to return to its solid form. During warmer months, refrigeration is recommended to help maintain its texture and long-term potency.

The ozone infusion remains stable unless exposed to sustained temperatures above 130°F combined with direct UV light—both conditions must be present to break down the bonds formed during the ozonation process. Each balm is protected from light by its Miron Violet Glass jar and protective shipping box.

At room temperature, ozone activity gradually begins to diminish after approximately six months. When kept refrigerated, this balm maintains full potency for up to two years.

All products are crafted in a facility that also processes tree nuts. Products contain bee-derived ingredients such as beeswax, propolis, and honey. Those with allergies to nuts or bee products should avoid use.
